Please. No more of this shit. If I wanted celebrity gossip, I'd read "In Touch" or some other awful magazine. Not the Stranger. I also wait all week to read David's column and this is just a travesty.

This is a pathetic excuse for a column. Even for a celebrity gossip column. There are gossip rags out there that are actually clever and well-written, but this is complete tripe.

When David takes time off, using this section of the paper to WIPE YOUR ASS would be a much better use of the space, Dan.

The Stranger does so much that is worthy of respect, but every time I see that you've let Romano substitute for Schmader, I lose most of mine for it. Surely you can find someone better to write for you. Like one of the Palin kids.

I agree with everyone else. Ann Romano is LAAAAME. Even when she's not just coering celebrity bullshit, I find her views dumb, her writing boring, and just generally don't like the way things turn out when she's at the helm. You should find someone else to fill in for David, or just...idk...never use Ann Romano ever again. It seems obvious she isn't the right fit for this column to me.

David, I like your work, and I understand that everyone needs a break from work from time to time. But this, this, this.... THING that subs in for you is inadequate. The humor is not funny, and there is no pathos, as there is in your column. I would rather you let (God help me) Charles Mudede sub for you.

Normally, Last Days is a fun read. I didn't even bother to finish this one. Get a different sub, please.

Yep, agree with others - I didn't even bother finishing reading because I DON'T CARE about all of the nonsense Ann Romano writes about. Surely The Stranger can do better when our beloved Shmader is absent??

I like her articles. It's good to see her still pulling quotes from Emperor Klaktu of Rigel VII.

Other than the music listings, hers and Wm. Humpy's articles are the highlights of the PDX Mercury.

As I do, many feel so familiar with The Stranger that they seem to forget that they're not paying for the privilege of reading it. I also find Ann Romano's writing and choice of topics to be incredibly subpar to Schmader's, but let's remember that she's "giving it away, you penniless schmucks"!!
