Considering what has happened in the cartoon world this week, I'm surprised that this is all that can be come up with for the Sunday comic. OK, not surprised, saddened...

@1 makes a good point.

Nevertheless, I am content that the quality of this entry rose to the level of 'fair' - unusual for Slog.
3
Sasquatch should apply for a reality TV show, rather than start a Kickstarter. It worked for Honey BooBoo and the Duggars.
4
I'm satisfied with this comic. It's a pretty reasonable commentary on today's society. Compared with, say, last week, it's a GREAT comic.
5
ha ha let's make fun of people for trying to create things!
6
This comic went to print before the Paris attack. Looking forward to disappointing everyone next week!
7
Seriously? Is that the best you can offer, Mike? "This comic went to print before the Paris attack."

It's been 4 fucking days, certainly someone could've come up a more *topical* cartoon to replace this previously scheduled, printed cartoon (and very nicely done) cartoon. I don't know... something that had something to do with an attack on cartooning maybe? Or defending free speech? Or honoring the artists who gave their lives?

There was a day when The Stranger was on top of things, and cutting edge in many aspects of culture. I know that political cartooning has never been a strongpoint of this publication (and Slog), but some attempt at speaking to the event through the involved media would have been nice. My 2¢.

@7: This is the comic from the Wednesday Stranger.
9
If it's the Wednesday Comic, then it shouldn't be rehashed as the "Sunday Comic". Call it the Wednesday Comic, if that's what it is.

@5

in a way this comic validates me making fun of those poor African kids I see on TV Oxfam or whatever. "For just 19cents a day you could provide food and shelter for one of these poor children" ha ha ha fuck that scam.
11
I'm with @4. This comic is ironic and works.
12
I'm sure the people at Charlie Hebdo wouldn't be as terribly offended that someone missed the tribute/commentary comment bandwagon.
13
@7 Sadly, this actually *is* the best they offer. It's either that, or (given all the amazing webcomics out there to choose from) they're just trolling us.
14
My problem isn't the fact that it doesn't reference Paris, my problem is the most charitable reading of it is making fun of people aspiring to create things. The less charitable reading is that it is making fun of the homeless.

Good satire should afflict the comfortable.
15
@14: think of it as mocking people spending money on kick starter stuff like potato salad, while people don't have homes.
16
@14, it does afflict the comfortable

Please wait...
