I love how people who get busted making racist and shitty comments online warn people to "stay off social media" instead of "don't be an obviously racists asshole where everyone can see you."

As if it is the fault of social media itself. You just log on, and are forced to make racist comments.

Let me be clear: I'm not defending the racism. But where does a job cross the line into your personal life? Was the Lieutenant "officially" on Twitter? How public does your job have to be so that you get in trouble for your private views?
