You pulled that accent outta your ass- sit down and watch O Brother, Where Art Thou for a more realistic representation. Your rendition is painful and corn pone- we sloggers expect better!
Sorry, guys. This doesn't cut it.
I was hoping for something that might actually be informative, rather than a poorly-spelled and stupidly-overstereotyped goulash.
Please try again with something more intelligent and funnier.
If the target of this scorn was any other racial/economic/political subgroup, we'd be howling about the offensiveness of the stereotyping. Certainly, there are lots of easy targets in Mississippi to find for ignorant responses to obvious questions, but falling back on this kind of mockery is pretty offensive. It certainly helps to alienate some potential allies. One of the complaints I've heard from many Mississippians is that it can be difficult to align with people who make fun of you as a resident of a state based on the most ridiculous person they can find. A similar 'humorous' bit could be made for any region or subgroup in the country and would be every bit as offensive.

A similar 'humorous' bit could be made for any region or subgroup if you want to hunt for the most ridiculous, ignorant wingnuts in the group. Many Mississippians aren't so 'hardcore' conservative, but aren't interested in aligning with political or social groups who make a game of digging up the craziest loon and pointing to that guy as a way to mock everyone in the state. You could make a racist/prejudiced card for a Jewish, black, Amish, gay, radical feminist or cajun person and the offensiveness would be clear. It doesn't make insulting stereotyping of a subgroup any less unfair just because we disagree with that group.
I was born and raised in MS. The portraits of us are never correct, although it made pretty sick Mississippi went for Rick Sanitorium. Mississippi republicans are not dumb usually, just narrow minded and bigoted. Bless your heart, Stranger.
Agree #10. I was like, oh this will be interesting - hear what an actual Republican leader has to say about these issues.
Disappointing, immature article.
Here are some authentic Mississippi accents for ya: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kb62fpsyh…
