nice to have you kicking around these parts again steinbacher!
2
This sophomoric parody makes me miss sponsored content on weekends.
3
Like the DSA beholden Stranger would ever try to diminish property rights.
4
Will someone kindly point out the portmanteau to me so that I can go about my day?
5
@4 I think the portmanteau in this case is the username, JonathanLivingstonNazgul69, a combination of Jonathan Livingston Seagull and LOTR's Nazgul. The 69 isn't really part of the portmanteau; it's just there because, obviously, someone else had already thought of it first, so the number is needed for differentiation and mutual funsies.
6
That's not exactly a portmanteau, though. More a play on words. "Nazgull" or "Seagul" would be portmanteaus, but only by technicality.
7
This is the coolest fucking thing in The Stranger in years.

It was a great day for me when I finally pried A. Birch Steen's identity out of Tim Keck.
8
well turned
9
@2 You found "Bill Hearst" sophomoric? I actually applauded silently in my chair to that one...
10
I'm drunk
12
@9 - After reading again and some the earlier posts for context - I'll take that back.
13
@7 sounds like a thrilling afternoon of anagrams.

(But I always assumed that at some point A. Birch Steen became the Dread Pirate Roberts.)

Doesn't read like the "real" A. Birch Steen. Reads like your standard angst-y teenager/Stranger writer doing a stoned impression of Rush Limbaugh. Bring back the real thing!

Please wait...
