Watching Workers Tear Shit Down

That crane kind of resembles the APC vehicle from Aliens too.

I liked to burn the little green plastic army men and then drip the plastic fireballs on my Evel Knievel stunt cycle like tiny fun balls of Napalm. It made a cool zinging sound and smelled like freedom.

The kid described in the intro was a dick--the same kid that would gather his friend's together to find my friends and hold them down while trying to cut their hair. I know that was just meant as a funny intro to this story--but I hope that the other kids--the one's who were beat up by the kids like you, will make it so that the kids like you were can't so easily point out that they were dicks--without thinking that some of us will point that out and let you know that there was never anything proud or funny about tearing things down.

It's like tearing the wings off bugs--there is nothing cool or proud about that. Personally, I hope that in the future, even if it is just meant as a cute allusion to childhood antics--that this author and others will think twice about opening up this particular aspect of his/her personal biography.

I hope the same for bullies, for racists, for the boys who made fun of the weaker kids, the girls, kicked dogs--basically all of them, will think twice before sharing this with others.

I would only hope that the author would do some soul-searching and move out of puberty!

Honestly, though. This is the first article that I've read by this author--it just hit me at a level that offended me. When I was a kid, I watched a kid kill a dog. Shot him in the head, stuck dynamite in its head--blew his head off. This was the same kid who liked to blow up action figures and knock things down. At seven, I begged my parents not to leave me at his house. I know that my story is extreme--but it left a mark on me--made me no friend of bullies. No friend of those that break things down. In especial, I do not like to see classical buildings be destroyed. I don't like people like Mitt Romney--who use their positions to bully others--and so, I reacted strongly and for that I apologize.

Xavier,
It's a joke not a dick...don't take it so hard.

Sincerely,
Sarcasm and friends.
7
Xavier,

Read his novel The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian. The author knows a thing or two about bullies.

Yes, The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian is pretty awesome...and when I saw that Sherman Alexie had written a little article for The Stranger, I thought, "Is it that Sherman Alexie, must be". For those of you who cried when your friend's pulled wings off of flies or magnified ants, or poured salt on snails, or waited for gophers to reach their tiny heads out of their holes just to get them chopped off with a shovel, take it easy. For some of us, pulling wings off of flies was better and more relieving than grabbing someone by the throat and pulling their effin' tongue out of their effin' face for sayin' some shit about their brother or mother. Enjoy your medicine and your cures, they all essentially come from "pulling wings off of flies".

Please wait...

and remember to be decent to everyone
all of the time.
