Screaming and minor skin burns? Wow! Talk about the ultimate fashion victim. Paco Rabanne's quote reminds me of two articles in the Sunday New York Times this week. One was in the business section about new fabrics that light up or project video. (I can't wait to see people in video sweatshirts, though I'm sure it will be a trend that'll get old and regulated fast.) The other was Stella McCartney's excellent comment about how making a handbag from leather or fur isn't just cruel, it's not innovative, and that a fashion designer's job is to move fashion forward. I thought that was great, and certainly applies here (though this garment doesn't appear to be especially eco-friendly).
I don't believe handbag fashion revolves around "innovation".
