It's fun to extrapolate and project on the most inane things.

He's probably saying it to his wife. And, considering that a wallet and keys are items that folks monitor the whereabouts of quite closely throughout the day, we can rest assured that there is a reasonable explanation.

2

What was the point of this? Even for Charles this was meandering...

3

So, nothing to write about today, eh?

This reminds me that people that live in the suburbs have a command of a much larger area of their surroundings than people in the City. That plane was thousands of feet away and he was ready to make it his problem. They seem like a good family, but also the sort that recognizes a stranger's car on their street.

*, Of course, this might just be a very aviation-informed family and they recognized something was wrong.

5

yeah man, so profound... sounds like a sixteen year old stoner kid writing

not you Dougsf, that's a good addition, how people perceive space; just referring back to the op

He was white, and he was not appreciated by this society, regardless of who is in charge. Can we recognize that whiteness alone is not enough in this country? Sure, it is harder to be black, or latino or arguably female (the wage gap is one thing, but has anyone done a standard-of-living comparison? Cash wages are not the only form of payment in this country; surely a roof over your head is worth something), but being white is not a golden ticket.

Wallet = Capitalism
Keys = Global warming

Charles’ ability in finding low-effort ways to meet his employment obligations continues to be an inspiration to us all.

In this installment of using the tragic and needless death of an actual human being to meet his employment obligations, Charles’ only imagined reason for this protagonist to want his wallet and truck keys is so he can head into “cloud-cuckoo land.” That this fellow might actually be trying to render aid to anyone harmed in the crash does not occur to Charles. Because that is exactly the type of thought which does not ever seem to occur to Charles.

This was a bad post.

11

if you hire me I promise not to write articles like this consider this my full resume

12

@7: There really is nothing so dumb that you won’t defend it.

13

It really sounded to me that the guy was planning to hop in his truck and investigate, and maybe help.

14

The fact is that a lot of people don't carry their wallet and/or keys on their person while in their own house; I never do. I've never noticed women carrying their purses around with them either while at home. It's strange why you would even focus on such a thing. In my household when growing up my father and mother were always telling me to do things; wasn't that true for you Charles? Do you give simple orders to your children? This is really a heavy subject.

15

He's talking to you Charles.

16

Back from your recent bout of the hotflashes I see.

17

Every now and then Charles is terrific and in fact this post is one…You ask why?
Because events like this crazy airplane theft impacts people from a much wider area… My take on the story is that this man is somehow in the aviation industry… Maybe an FAA inspector in fact and realizes that he’ll have to go to work to try and do the analysis of what happened… So I think it’s a fascinating little vignette and I hope Charles will pursue this reportage and make it into a

18

....make it into a bigger story....As someone said, everything is connected to everything else and you can start with A and end up with A-minus.

20

@7 Spot on Sporty unless you are white and rich.

21

I dunno ... I think wanting your wallet and keys so you can drive to take a closer look at the crash is not that "amazing".

22

@9: It is very easy when reading these scribblings to assume that Mudede is easily the dumbest person at The Stranger, but then you realize that he has conned people for years into paying him to day drink and write this crap. So he must not be the dumbest person there.

Crazy part is that he makes it so obvious he is not trying at all, but no one seems to care. It's kind of great when you really think about it.

23

Charles, this one was weird, even for you.

24

What a useless "article". Of course he was telling his wife to fetch his items. What else does she have to do all day? This would be better-suited for Ms. Magazine.

25

I don't know, man. The article made sense to me. Hits blunt
