Clearing up some reader confusion.

So, when do we get a story about Chase’s complaint to the PDC?

3

Sawant: Not for sale; Stranger: Not so much.

5

Yeah, maybe don't allow political ads on the front cover?

IDK, just a thought. It's almost like you all don't know what the front cover of newspapers is even for. I mean, besides lining your compost bin or gerbil cage.

Surprised no one has filed a PDC complaint requiring The Stranger to disclose the millions of dollars in political contributions to all the socialist candidates for Cty Council. I mean Nathalie Graham and her lame, recycled "exposes" is a joke of a partisan hack. And the entire paper is one giant free promotion for Sawant, Scott and rotten-to-core incumbents, while smearing opponents.

Fox News and Rush Limbaugh would be proud!

9

I much prefer the full duplicate cover concept to those short outerwrap sheets that always would fall to the ground when you picked up the paper. Hated those with a passion.

10

Why did you run an ad for Egan Orion at all?

Also, you must have known that the ad would be placed there, and what the headline on the front page said, and what the overall effect would be. You printed the goddamn paper. It’s not like some guerilla grabbed all the Stranger copies everywhere in the early AM hours and slipped that ad onto each and every copy of your print edition.

You idiots did this. Don’t try to pass the buck.

I talked to someone who had only seen the cover. They thought The Stranger endorsed Orion as a direct result of the ad.

This person had said they were originally going to vote for Orion but won't anymore. They said this kind of misleading ad was disgusting and they couldn't support someone who would lie like that.

Between the "no corporate PAC money signs" and saying conflicting things to different groups, how can anyone think they can trust Orion with their vote?

Yes, politically it was a big, big mistake on the Stranger's part to print Egan Orion's name in huge letters directly under an equally humongous "Endorsements." The visual impact of this cannot be overstated. My earlier post endorsed the overall concept of a "fake" cover as opposed to the paper's previous litter-generating practice, but this particular one should never have seen print. Orion may well win the election because of this grievous error in judgment. (I don't share the view that this was actually the Stranger's unspoken intent, but I totally get why people like #11 might suspect same.)

The Stranger just offers watered down "leftist" views as lip service to its readership but doesn't actually work to keep corporate money from taking over Seattle. The front page Egan ad and huge Egan banner at the top of this website prove that. No morals, no edge, kinda like a grown adult w an urban outfitters wardrobe who deeply identifies with holden caulfield or a politician who won't turn down money from amazon & corporate pacs because they have sold out and don't actually represent anything except $$$$!!!!! Boo!

So, you guys are basically like Facebook and ol Zuckerberg? Doesn't really matter as long as you get paid? Great.
