If I was a Republican I might care if he gets the nomination. But I ain't.

With Cruz next in line, I believe the cure is worse than the disease.

This ad isn't for the established Trump voter, those already swimming in their personal pits of vile, but for those who may think "Well..... maaaaaybe Trump?" It's hard to imagine someone on the fence about him, but a lot of people don't have time to pay attention.

This will definitely hurt him in the general.

Such ads are not designed to peel away votes from Trump. They are designed to keep Trumpism from growing any larger than it is already
6
Or perhaps they are aimed at liberal voters who say "if so-and-so isn't the nominee, I'm going to stay home/vote for a third party?"

What's worse, your less favorable choice of democrat nominee? Or the monster the republicans choose?

@6, I'm afraid those liberal votes who will not vote for Hillary because they wanted Bernie will stay home. The other liberals who won't vote for Hillary will vote for/write in Jill Stein. So both those groups, damn them, will be endangering this country by de facto voting for Trump. (Yes,. I know, not technically, but still.)

@7, Hillary's been known by everyone for decades. It's time to get over "disillusionment" and think like a halfway intelligent adult with an eye toward results, not ideology.
