Bo-Nita

Recommended

Seattle Repertory Theatre Seattle Center
Tuesdays-Sundays. Continues through Nov. 17 2013

$12-$60

"In this world-premiere play by Elizabeth Heffron, the title character—a 13 year-old American girl—tells us an epic, winding story about what happened when her mom's ex-husband was trying to beat her, and perhaps to rape her, and then had a heart attack. On its face, the story is a gallows-comedy, body-disposal caper, not unlike something from a Quentin Tarantino film. But as she drops small details about what her life is like, Bo-nita also becomes a study in the vulnerability and survival of a girl living on the margins." (Brendan Kiley)
