Various locations Across Seattle
May 6-June 7 2015
Black Box Festival is SIFF for art people. It features more than 70 international artists who work in the mediums of video, film, and new media—and many of the presentations are brand-new works making their Seattle, or West Coast, or North American premieres. The programming is thanks to curators Julia Fryett (who thought up the whole thing) and Anne Couillaud, both of whom moved to Seattle from New York in 2013 and brought their network of contacts and their broad perspectives with them. Venues include SAM, the SIFF Film Center, Raisbeck Performance Hall at Cornish, the Cornish Main Gallery, the DXARTS Fab Lab, the Olympic Sculpture Park, as well as a central Black Box Hub.
