Ashraf Fayadh: A Global Reading in Solidarity

Elliott Bay Book Company Capitol Hill
Thu., Jan. 14, 7 p.m. 2016

This reading of Palestinian poet and artist Ashraf Fayadh's work is part of a worldwide response to his incarceration and impending death sentence in Saudi Arabia, issued due to Fayadh's defiant estrangement from religion. They say that this movement was "initiated by the Berlin International Festival of Literature," and "endorsed by Nobel Literature Laureates Herta Müller, Elfriede Jelinek, Orhan Pamuk, members of PEN including PEN International president Jennifer Clement, Amnesty International, and many more."
