Worlds Largest Dreamcatcher Sculpture Measurement Ceremony

Renton Technical College Cafeteria South of Seattle
Thu., Aug. 4, 6 p.m. 2016

Paul Kuniholm Pauper created a gigantic Dreamcatcher ("a leather wrapped ring of aircraft-grade spruce woven with sinew and embellished with feathers and beads") and at this event, during the opening of the Seattle Art Fair, folks from the Guinness World Records will measure it to verify that it is, indeed, the world's largest. Pauper writes: "The Dreamcatcher is a symbol of passé, New Age obliviousness. After all, the whole american lie began with the conquering of Native Americans, to put it mildly. My hope is that a little light can shine on the darkness that shadows the powerless. A glint of truth."
