They say: "Full of Roses is an exhibition of durational performance art led and curated by Seattle-based performance artist Abigail Swanson and featuring artists of multiple and various mediums to celebrate & acknowledge menstruation. Inspired by the works of Karen Finley, Holly Hughes, and Ron Athey, this piece explores intersectional feminism, body politics, and reclaiming menstruation. Full of Roses is an immersive, interdisciplinary, durational installation exploring the sanctity of blood released without violence, without trauma and its universal ability to nurture growth and creation. The performance will engage all of the senses featuring a film by Lauren Rodriguez, and a new collaborative composition by Monika Khot (Nordra, Zen Mother), Chris Icasiano & Neil Welch (Bad Luck), Abbey Blackwell (former La Luz; Great Spiders), and performance by Abigail Swanson."
