Peace Concert: The Ghostlight Project

Taproot Theatre (map) Greenwood
Mon., May 22, 7:30 p.m. 2017 All Ages

The idea behind the Ghostlight Project is to hold creative demonstrations of community and resistance while raising money for nonprofits. In this case, Taproot Theatre will be collecting donations for organizations that support immigrants and international understanding—World Vision, World Concern, One Cup Coffee Co., Seattle Rotary Club, The John Perkins Center for Leadership & Reconciliation and El Centro de la Raza. You'll hear spoken word and music performances from Bethanie Russell, Chelsea LeValley, Shana Bestock, Asha Stitcher, Sarah Deiner, Lydia Hayes, Kelle Brown, Tyler Kimmel, and Lama Chikh; stories by Hana Lass and Adham Smadi; jazz guitar by Gordon Tibbetts. On the political front, Seattle Deputy Mayor Hyeok Kim will discuss our sanctuary city status. Sakya Monastery lamas will lead a prayer for peace.
