Famed actress Viola Davis comes to Seattle with a lecture on her past and current work, as well as her life in Hollywood, on Broadway, and beyond. And what a life it has been: Raised in what she calls “abject poverty” by a horse trainer and a maid, Davis’s early years were spent trailing her mom in the civil rights movement. Later, she would leave home, complete her education at Juilliard, bring her talents to both stage and screen, and become the most Academy Award-nominated black actress in history.
