Bludgeoning techno is all the rage in underground dance music circles these days, but the stalwarts whose battle cry is “House music lives!” can rejoice at the beginning of this holiday weekend with the help of Noise Complaint, which is bringing second-wave Chicago house producer Felix da Housecat to town. Felix has been relatively quiet since the heyday of his early-’00s numbers in collaboration with deadpan electroclash singer Miss Kittin, but a solid DJ doesn’t need recent singles to deliver a stellar set. Dance-music nostalgists can also indulge in the Timbre Room with locals Julie Herrera, Trinitron, and David Lowe. The flyer promises a “1999 Throwback House/Techno Takeover.” Dust off your JNCOs.
