The Bainbridge Island novelist comes into the city to read from his first novel, All About Lulu, which is now celebrating its 10th anniversary. I haven’t read All About Lulu, but I read another of Evison's novels, The Revised Fundamentals of Caregiving, before it became a movie, and was delighted to discover that Evison is a multitalented fiction writer—funny, insightful, vivid, great with dialogue and characterization. All About Lulu is about a young vegetarian growing up in a family of bodybuilders and dealing with “the death of his mother, the arrival of a new step-mother, and his irrepressible crush on his new step-sister, Lulu,” according to its publisher.
