Every record and live performance I've heard by Canadian composer Sarah Davachi has ushered me out of mundane/insane reality into a more peaceful domain of sacred sonic envelopment. I have little reason to believe that she won't work similar magic tonight at Seattle's most salubrious venue for minimalist-drone zone-outs, Chapel Performance Space. Currently, Davachi is the closest thing we have to a hybrid of Éliane Radigue and Terry Riley, so assume the lotus position and start worshipping with your ears. Stranger Genius Lori Goldston should set the scene well with her inventive, enigmatic cello improvisations.
