The Black Tones are a Seattle power trio (guitar-slinging frontwoman Eva Walker, bass-banging twin bro Cedric David Walker, and skins-pounding Robby Little) that self-describes as a “mixture of Kurt Cobain and corn bread.” Eva has a rich, throaty howl that can be a sultry siren call or a demanding call to arms that soars over a seething, churning mix of hard rock, blues, punk, and old-school heavy metal. RIYL: The London Souls, Earl Greyhound.
