It’s not easy to make microscopic sound that rivets your attention, but Montreal’s Karl Fousek has achieved that rare feat. Check out his Bandcamp page for fascinating displays of analog-synth in the intricate, surprising, and yet relaxing vein of Nuno Canavarro’s Plux Quba and Franco Leprino’s Inegrati… Disintegrati. By contrast, Michael Masaru Flora purveys a much more frenetic and splenetic style of music, all jagged spurts of computer-generated synthesis forged out of theories that you need years of postgraduate study to comprehend. Thankfully, though, all you really require are two ears and an open mind to enjoy Flora’s equilibrium-overturning sound design. His set will be presented in six channels, for maximum mindfuckage.
