  Save Event

See very different Mexican art house films from the 1970s, including Jaime Humberto Hermosillo's The Passion of Berenice, about a mysterious woman who may have killed her husband and is now falling for a new young man; Juan Manuel Torres's The Other Virginity, about four young working-class people falling for each other on a trip to the cabaret; Raúl Araiza's The Rattlesnake, about a documentary filmmaker who slowly realizes that the lives of his indigenous subjects are very different from the propaganda he's been meant to produce; and Tívoli, Alberto Isaac's attack on conservative political virtue-signaling set in a burlesque theater. Co-presented with Consulado de México en Seattle.
