Jane Wong: After Preparing the Altar, the Ghosts Feast Feverishly
Recommended
I love how poets use space. I think it has something to do with the way their minds wrap around words, arranging them into something familiar yet strange, that lends itself well to curating spaces. This will be poet and artist Jane Wong’s first solo exhibition. Exploring the themes of hunger and waste and their meaning for immigrant families, Wong’s show will consist of altars, sculpture poems, and belongings alongside texts that evoke her childhood in New Jersey where her parents ran a Chinese American restaurant.
