"Eastside Jazz Club is Delighted to be featuring The Jovino Santos Neto Quinteto who will be performing a tribute to Hermeto Pascoal a Brazilian composer and multi-instrumentalist. Pascoal is a beloved figure in the history of Brazilian music, known for his abilities in orchestration and improvisation. Pascoal initially caught the international public's attention with an appearance on Miles Davis's 1971 album Live-Evil, which featured him on three pieces, which he also composed. Davis said that Pascoal was "the most impressive musician in the world". Later collaborations involved fellow Brazilian musicians Airto Moreira and Flora Purim. Other members of his group have included pianist Jovino Santos-Neto and percussionists Nene.

Come join us when the Quinteto will be performing this special tribute as well as playing some new Jovino compositions.

Jovino Santos Neto Piano, Ben Thomas Vibraphone, Chuck Deardorf Bass, Mark Ivester Drums and Jeff Busch Percussion." (Promo Copy)
