A boorish man with a beautiful voice shows up to perform his heroic role, but can he hold it together for the length of the performance? Will he even remember his music? Billed as “Jack Black meets Pavarotti,” Robert McPherson, a real live Metropolitan Opera singer, will combine opera (the popular art of another era) with low comedy.
