"In Birds of the West, award-winning artist Molly Hashimotocaptures nearly 100 Western species using different media, from quick sketches with pen and ink to more carefully planned and vivid block prints. Through more than 120 paintings, Molly explores seven Western habitats, sharing both her evocative personal encounters and the natural histories of the species typically found in these places, from backyard favorites like robins and chickadees to alpine-dwelling great gray owls and mountain bluebirds. From the diminutive ruby-crowned kinglet to the majestic golden eagle, Mollys range of art and detail encourages all of us, whether artists or not, to observe our feathered friends more closely."
