"This is the second time we’ve made this beer to raise money for North Helpline, a poverty assistance and food bank service right across the street from our brewery. North Helpline works to make sure our neighbors have food on their tables and a roof overhead.

Watershed Pub & Kitchen, North Helpline, and Hellbent Brewing Company all came together again to create a beer and an event that support our neighborhood--the Northgate and Lake City communities (hence “GateCity IPA”). A host of local bars and restaurants are participating to make the GateCity IPA project come to life. At every location during Seattle Beer Week (May 10th-May 19th), $1 per pint of GateCity IPA will be donated to North Helpline. See schedule of events below.

Another reason to check out this beer is that last year, at the Washington Beer Awards, GateCity IPA won the gold medal in the American Style IPA category!! It’s brewed with all Washington ingredients, including malt from Skagit Valley Malting and aggressive amounts of Citra, Simcoe, and Mosaic hops from the Yakima Valley. This beer is a pale IPA with gentle bready overtones from the malt and vibrant mango, papaya, citrus and pine aromas from the hops." (Promo Copy)
