"Join Seattle-based attorney Lucas S. Michels as he discusses various issues artists may encounter in seeking to protect their artworks from online copyright infringement—both in the U.S. and abroad.

Online copyright infringement is a significant, growing global problem facing artists today. Recent studies have estimated there is a $2 trillion global online counterfeit market fueled by online copyright infringement, with over 400 million users seeking pirated content on a monthly basis. Given this reality, artists, like any business, need to know how to protect their works online. To help artists address such concerns, Lucas will discuss how artists can obtain protection for their works at home and abroad, how to enforce rights in their works in the U.S., several major foreign markets, as well as major global online social media and retail platforms such as Google, Facebook, and Amazon. He will also be available to answer any questions you may about protecting your rights online.

WLA's workshops and services are made possible by all of our sponsors and donors. Thank you to all who continue to support WLA's mission serving artists in Washington State." (Promo Copy)
