"U.S. Representative Pramila Jayapal (WA-07) will hold a town hall at the University of Washington on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at 6:30pm. At the event, Jayapal will discuss her work in Congress and take questions from members of the community in attendance. Town halls are an important way for constituents to connect with their representatives in government and hold them accountable.

This town hall occurs at a significant time for the U.S. House of Representatives, which is currently considering legislation to protect Dreamers and Temporary Protected Status (TPS)/Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) recipients and continuing investigations into President Trump’s ongoing obstruction of justice. Recently, the House passed the Equality Act—landmark civil rights legislation to ban discrimination against LGBTQ+ people—as well as two sensible gun reform bills to expand background checks and close the Charleston loophole."
