Hepi Mita pays tribute to his filmmaker mother, Merata Mita, a documentarian who worked in the '70s and '80s to expose injustices towards her fellow Maori. According to the film description, Mita senior was "the first woman from an Indigenous Nation to solely direct a film anywhere in the world," so this highly rated documentary is bound to be an important watch.
