"If you’ve been puzzling over what to do for Dear Old Dad to make Father’s Day truly special this year- problem solved! Give Dad the gift of dinner at a magnificent steak tasting class created by the-one-and-only Chef Tom Douglas!

We’ll start things off right with a Manhattan bar located in the Loft Bar from 5:30 to 6pm. Then you’ll move to the Hot Stove classroom for demos, steak comparisons, informative discussion from our guest beef experts, and top-notch booze tastings, all adding up a sumptuous steak dinner.

Tom will unlock the mysteries of the grading systems for steak. The USDA beef grades are Select, Choice, and Prime.  But have you noticed when you go to a fancy steakhouse that there are even more rating systems to consider? Wagyu grades are scores for Wagyu beef based on fat color, meat color, marbling, and other factors. But what does any of this mean unless you can taste and compare different grades of beef side by side?  Here’s your chance to taste two-ounce cuts each of Select, Choice and Prime New York Strip, and two-ounce cuts each of Wagyu 3-star, 5-star, and 7-star New York Strip.

Cognac has a grading system, too.  You’ll taste and discuss the differences between VS (Very Special), VSOP (Very Superior Old Pale) and XO (Extra Old or Napoléon) Cognac.

On top of all that, Tom is bringing in Barolo, Bordeaux, and Châteauneuf du Pape from his own cellar.

Man does not live by steak alone (not even Dad), so there will be classic steakhouse side dishes, and you’ll end dinner with a luscious slice of Valrhona Chocolate Cake with Swiss Vanilla Buttercream!" (Promo Copy)
