Cherubs, Low Dose

Don't Miss
Texas-brewed trio Cherubs have returned once again with their HEAVY ass, 1990s-spawned noise rock. I’m stoked, too, ’cause they’re better than ever. I remember they sorta turned up just past the pinnacle of noise rock’s late-1980s ascent, and to me they always felt just a little too stock. But their new material, from the recent Immaculada High LP, is WAY better than their ’90s material. Maybe it’s the production, or perhaps two decades of hesher maturation, but they’ve now achieved a blistering atmosphere in their songwriting, which really pushes past typical heavy dirge experimentation expectations.
