James Baldwin is the author of several masterpieces of fiction, many brilliant essays, and a couple of plays. His reputation as an artist and public intellectual grows with each passing year, especially because he channeled his perceptions of white supremacy into timeless articulations of the evil lurking beneath America’s premises. This tribute to Baldwin is a collaboration between Hugo House and the Northwest African American Museum. It will feature readings and remembrances by Anastacia-Reneé, Ebo Barton, LaNesha DeBardelaben, and Seattle civic poet Jourdan Imani Keith. by Christopher Frizzelle
