"Please join us for a free screening of the documentary Dawnland.
The U.S. had an official policy to steal Wabanaki children from their homes and place them with white families so they could learn to 'be white.' Children faced devastating harm from the adults attempting to remove and replace their culture. In Maine, the first Truth and Reconciliation Committee was formed. Dawnland follows the committee as it travels to the Wabanaki community to understand the truth and witness their healing.
This event is free to the public. Donations are appreciated to help cover costs." (Promo Copy)
