Washington Potato Growers Free Potato Event
Washington Potato Growers sell most of their crops to local restaurants, but in light of closures and cutbacks amid the COVID-19 crisis, they have an excess of taters on their hands. To fix that, they'll hold their "largest potato giveaway to date" with help from Emergency Food Network volunteers, who plan to distribute 200,000 pounds of the starchy vegetable and load them into people's cars on a first-come, first-served basis.
