First of all, you do have to have an active lesion to spread herpes, the bullshit claim of "viral shedding" is not from accurate data, AKA no virus was spread without the associated lesions being present. The bogus data comes from the idiot human mind who justifies answering the question as lesion not present at all, as being honest, when it in fact is dishonest or completely ignorant.

just like the day or two before the associated lesions from poison oak present themselves, there is tell-tale itchiness in the spot they will present, the itchiness feels like a scratch from a sharp object, except when you look at where the sensation is coming from, there is no red mark, inducing the typical thought of What The Fuck!!!

it's not until the next day or two the lesions are visible with the naked eye, even though someone who knows what poison oak looks like and if they touch the plant they know the oils are there by the itchy warning, and an honest answer would be, yes I saw the plant, I thought I didn't touch it but obviously I did

furthermore asshole, claiming the anti-viral medicine will prevent spreading the disease when you have sores, is also false, because if you have sores (or the warning sign that sores are present but not yet visible) you are infectious and will transmit the disease to your partner if you don't wait until the sores are completely healed skin without any itch or other indication that the virus is present
