An Immersion into a Subculture That's Really into Immersion

Essie: “Mermaiding has allowed me to reach a wider audience and encourage conservation through imagination.” Sarah Teveldal/FlashPool Productions

When I was in this mermaid crowd's age group I spent my life mostly in the dark hours, drinking, doing drugs and listening to very loud music either alone or in clubs. I would say this is a far more constructive use of time while also admitting to being totally mystified by the compulsion to dress like a fish. Education and conservation is always a worthy cause, so you go, fishtail girls.
I love Matt Baume's writing. More, please.

I think the word you are looking for is "exploiting". If the Stranger was exploding women I think we'd all have bigger problems.
"It happens sometimes. People just explode. Natural causes"
"they're" doing it underwater. (sorry, just had to pile on.)
Thanks, PattyH. I can't stand bad grammar.

Please wait...
