With any luck there won't be violent inner city riders going to trail heads on these buses. This article underlines why people don't want to take the bus. It made the trip probably 30% longer, just like most rides on the bus in Seattle.

When your scaremongering gets so farfetched that it starts to sound like the plot of a sitcom or late-night cartoon, it's probably not going to have the effect you're hoping for.

The more popular hiking spots might consider switching to a parking reservation system like Muir Woods started using a few years ago. That way you can plan accordingly before you arrive. Otherwise, the bus sounds like a pretty decent option.
