If you take into perspective the persecution gays have endured through the ages and across the globe I think you'll agree that those of us living now in the States are the still the safest we've been ever, generally speaking, despite the last couple years. There will always be oppressors but their numbers have gradually diminished. Most of the ones left who take issue with gender roles will be gone within a few generations. It's alright to be afraid because persecution is real, but don't let it cloud you from the progress that has been made and still be achieved. Be proud, be loud, be personal.
