The Stranger walks in on an underwear maker, a window dresser, a dressmaker, a stripper, some nightlife freaks, a satanic-apparel designer, a buyer at Crossroads, a dead-person's-junk salesman, and others.
Not to beat a dead horse, but the idea of Fringe wasn't created by Kevin, he was brought on and has turned it into what it is now, but it began as a collaboration effort.
Sean Evoy is a violent dangerous guy. Really really stupid for the Stranger not to at least check up on the people they feature. The guys with knives probably had a beef because he was torturing a mentally ill woman. THAT, Stranger, is this guys STYLE.
@ 1 If you are talking about an African American, then the Hat Man is a 'person of color'....but I guess you wouldn't know that w/out a picture. Assumptions aren't always the best approach if you are feeling accusitory.
I think Sean Evoy (Prince) is just trying to scare people away from the Goodwill Outlet. I've been shopping there for 10 years, and I've never felt the need to carry a knife. Most 'bins' customers are other Red Light pickers and immigrant families. There is a Methadone clinic just down the street, though, which brings some tweekers in, but they're mostly harmless.
James D - I know Sean personally, he's a little over the top, but not violent or dangerous.
BTW - you can get VHS tapes at the bins for 25 cents. I've built up a huge collection of 70s and 80s hit and obscure movies.
@11 - 'Tweakers' are people high on methamphetamine, not opiates, which would be the addiction people are seeking help for if they are visiting a methadone clinic. Plus, there are decades of research proving that getting people off of heroin and other illicit opioids and into methadone maintenance improves their health and benefits the community through a reduction of crime and increase in productivity. So the people visiting a methadone clinic to dose in the morning aren't going to cause anyone any 'trouble'. They're there to get their lives back together. :)
Hey XOXO, I'm all for people getting help and getting off drugs. I did say they were mostly harmless. And some people do abuse both Meth and heroin, so there.
Sean has been to jail for beating his sister. He punches people in bars on a monthly basis at least. There are also women coming forward that are saying he has raped them. His behavior obviously goes outside the world of the bins. There, he just seems loud. Anyway, he works hard to cover up his tracks but people know about it now.
I think it is awesome that Seattle has started taking a shine to Independent Fashion Designers. I have been producing an event known as "Chance" for the last year, and have come to know dozens of independent designers from Couture, (http://www.poiriercouture.com/) To Punk, (http://www.noelaustin.com/pureclothing.h…) to evening wear, (www.nuvochic.viviti.com) to urban, (http://www.presidentialclothing.com/)
There is an abundance of local designers, (http://www.Facebook.com/ChanceNW) that dedicate a lot of time and money into producing their art. There is also a lot of photographers and models who do spend a lot of time producing art through the local Fashion Community, it is exciting to see this community developing.

Thanks. and Congrats.
I wish men in Seattle would learn to dress up a bit.
