Yeah, but if it's a legitimate seduction, the teacher's body has ways of shutting that whole thing down.

Judges bragging about being the minority opinion consistently makes me sad.

You're saying either the majority of other judges don't understand the law, or you don't.

@1, HEART HEART HEART.

Can't we finally oust this pigasaurus rex?
6
OK he's a bit of a misogynist but he really knows property law.

You have to stop electing judges. They are supposed to be above the fray of politics and election cycles (doesn't always work, of course, but a judge shouldn't have to raise money and campaign). They should be nominated and through the process of advise and consent, be seated (or not).

Does anyone on The Stranger staff think that police turn down good arrests of white felons so that they have more time to arrest black people? If not, then why are black people 20 times over represented in the prison system?

Maybe if The Stranger toned down the self-righteousness a bit, they could land interviews with people like Richard Sanders. A more balanced story that includes his point of view would have been far superior to this attack piece. The progressive fundamentalism thing, where everyone who disagrees with you is WRONG, is really wearing thin.

"progressive fundamentalism"

oxymoron of the day

RE: "Does anyone on The Stranger staff think that police turn down good arrests of white felons so that they have more time to arrest black people?"

Yeah, I certainly think that they actually do. The reason they do so is because they are basically lazy. They will always go for the easy bust over one that requires actual effort or (Heavens to Mergatroid) might put them in actual danger.

That's why, when the IHOP on Aurora Avenue was recently robbed in broad daylight by two guys who grabbed the register right off the counter and threatened staff, it took over TWO HOURS for the cops to show up. Their excuse? It wasn't an ARMED robbery, therefore it wasn't all that important or worth responding to. Meanwhile, the cops evidently consider prostitution - a non-violent misdemeanor - to be a sufficiently "dangerous" priority that they find it "necessary" to assign numerous officers to do stings against hookers and their clients on - get this - AURORA AVENUE.

RE: "If not, then why are black people 20 times over represented in the prison system?"

(a) Kindly PROVE that "black people are 20 times over represented in the prison system", or else kindly STFU;

(b) Has it ever occurred to you that in our wonderful allegedly "NON"-racially-biased criminal justice system, whites, being generally higher-income and wealthier than African-Americans, are much more likely to be able to afford a decent criminal defense attorney who can successfully keep them out of priosn? Or would that concept require too much intellect and contemplative thought on your part, and maybe cause your head to hurt?

Please wait...
