Incredible.

If he has two life terms, how is he eligible for parole in 2016?
11
Great comic. Newspapers would be so much better if they had to draw all their stories.

@10 Let's see... 1988 to 2016 is what, 28 years? He had two consecutive life terms, too. So, I'm guessing you must be eligible for parole in Wisconsin after 14 years if you've been convicted for life. Doesn't mean he'll get it.

i want to read more! is this part of a larger series?

and for all the people saying "more comics based on real life" -- there's a bunch of comics based on real life. the graphic genre is huge - it includes all sort of biography/autobiography/journalism. start digging around! of a similar nature to this: one of the first drawn books I read was about jeffrey dahmer in high school -- called "my friend dahmer" by derf backderf. and obviously, fantagraphics in general is a good place to start.

Nothing harshes your buzz like two rotting corpses in the kitchen.

Best Stranger comic ever.

OH damn. The last line. Stinky fuckers. ???????
16
@15, I actually read it as first as "STICKY" fuckers, as in putrified and oozing if you touch them!

Happy Halloween, everyone!

At one point in my life, I knew "Robbie" too. And he told me this story pretty much verbatim to this strip.

Awesome comic. About 10 years ago me and a friend were doing a summer internship in Northern Wisconsin that required driving around and camping wherever we could. We went through Spooner a lot and camped nearby one night, but afterward my friend refused to camp there again because she'd heard there had been a horrible murder in the town years before and she was extremely creeped out. I tried to tell her it was irrational when it had been so long ago but she claimed she had a weird feeling about the place and wouldn't go back. I never heard the full story before I read this, and it is pretty creepy. Thanks!

Ah, Spooner. Spent a week there one day.

Please wait...
