Last week in this space, we told you about The Stranger's First Annual Know-It-All Movie Quiz. We have a trove of prizes to give away, including THREE full-series passes to the 2001 Seattle International Film Festival. All you have to do to win TWO of our full-series SIFF passes is ace our Know-It-All Movie Quiz; to win ONE of our full-series passes, all you have to do is fail miserably--and how hard is that?
The top-secret location of the Know-It-All Movie Quiz will be announced in The Stranger that hits the streets on Wednesday, May 23. New Strangers are delivered at approximately 5 p.m. to the following locations: Bailey/Coy Books (414 Broadway Ave E), Bulldog News (Broadway Market), Caffe Vita (1005 E Pike Street), Elysian Brewing (1221 E Pike), McDonald's (1110 Madison, First Hill, curbside box), Michael's Deli & Market (2010 Fairview at Boren), QFC Harvard Market (Broadway & Pike, curbside box), Seattle Central Community College (front lobby, 1701 Broadway), Steve's Broadway News (204 Broadway Ave E), Vivace (901 E Denny), Wherehouse (206 Broadway Ave E). If, for some reason, you can't find a Stranger that day, find a computer, as the location will be announced on www.thestranger.com at 5 p.m.
ONE CORRECTION: The quiz will be administered at 9 pm on Wednesday, May 23, not 10 pm as previously reported. All the other details--doors close promptly at 9 pm, winners will be announced that same night--still apply. And bring two No. 2 pencils.
The Prizes
Last week, we promised some pretty fantastic prizes to the highest and lowest scorers on the Know-It-All Quiz, but we couldn't find a dunce cap. Here's what you can actually win:

Because The Stranger will have seen more of the films in this year's festival (including last-minute bookings) than any other publication in town, SIFF Notes⢠is guaranteed to be your best source for recommendations and warnings for SIFF 2001.
One More Thing
We told you last week that everything you needed to know to ace our Know-It-All Movie Quiz was on the cheat sheet published in that week's paper. THIS WAS INCORRECT! Looking over last week's paper, we were horrified to realize that a significant portion of the cheat sheet was omitted due to an unfortunate error in the editing process. Below, you will find the omitted section of our cheat sheet. To ace our Know-It-All Movie Quiz and win two full-series, VIP passes to SIFF, you will need to know all of the facts on this week's cheat sheet as well. MEMORIZE EVERYTHING ON BOTH CHEAT SHEETS--THIS WEEK'S AND LAST WEEK'S--AND YOU WILL ACE THE SIFF QUIZ AND WIN THE PRIZE PACKAGE! (For ease of study, you can print out both cheat sheets by going to our website, www.thestranger.com/specials/cheatsheet.html.)
Of course, anyone who wants to fail the quiz miserably and win a single full-series, VIP pass--and go to the movies alone, like a loser--doesn't have to memorize anything: You need only show up and blow the quiz.
Finally, the quiz will be multiple choice, with one essay question. In the case of a tie for best or worst score, the winner will be selected based on answers to the essay question.
Good luck.
