Wrong Audience Man to the rescue! Do you at all get the concept of a children's movie? I don't think you do, I honestly don't. Surprise! You aren't the target audience! A movie with farting and a big-eyed hamster isn't going for "Ha ha, look at Adam Sandler make jokes everyone can enjoy," it's going for "Ha ha, look at Adam Sandler and a bunch of no-names make some seven-year-olds happy." The movie is stupid and juvenile, what in God's name were you really expecting from this thing? You don't walk into an Adam Sandler Disney film expecting to see cinematic innovation, you expect to see a children's film, which is what Sandler has created here.

To summarize: What you have done in this review is tantamount to criticizing Junie B. Jones books because they're shallow and adults don't enjoy them as much as children do. You don't understand the concept of pandering to an audience and therefore are not very suited to criticizing an Adam Sandler Disney film aimed primarily at children.

Alex, I can understand a good children's movie, when it is a good movie. I took shots at this movie for its poor writing and pacing and weak, weak plot. And there is no law that says a children's movie only has to appeal to children. Disney has made a lot of money making films that appeal to both children and parents (maybe that's why WALL-E has appeared on so many best-of-08 lists). This movie was badly done, be it intended for children or adults.

Evan, certainly I'm not saying that Adam Sandler hasn't made some entirely forgettable cinema that nobody should even give a passing glance, and I understand that children's movies can cross all ages. My main point was that Sandler wasn't aiming very high, and my impression of the review was that you felt that he even sucked at a movie with such low standards. Fair enough, I'm not doubting that the movie is entirely skippable. I'm simply saying that perhaps the review is a tad out of context.

Yet another summary: Basically we agree that the film sucks, I'm just pointing out that, again, it's Adam Sandler in a children's film.

As long as we agree that it sucks, then I'm happy. Now if I can just convince everyone else in the country...

Ugh! The guinea pig - as dopey as it was - was actually the ONLY funny thing in the movie (all 0.5 seconds worth). Better to just get a poster and kill the mooveee.

I hope Sandler has all his money in the bank because it's now official that he's sold his soul – in case the jury was out before.

Please wait...
