Andy Warhol was still recovering from Valerie Solanas's gunshot wounds when he shot Lonesome Cowboys, a western originally conceived as a version of Romeo and Juliet called Ramona and Julian. It's gay! Super-gay. The location was the Rancho Linda Vista dude ranch outside Tucson, where there were, indeed, many dudes. Eventually, due to the rapey scene that opens the movie, there were attempts at censorship... but here we are, and here it is, all 111 gloriously homosexual minutes.
