I actually enjoyed Super 8 for what it was, at least until the dreadful Spielberg ending. The kids were decent actors and the dialogue for ten
Was decently written. Looking forward to some better alien invasion flicks, though.
I happen to see Attack the Block 2 months ago at an early screening over at the Pacific Place theater, the movie was great, one of the best movies I've seen all year. Everyone needs to see it and help support them, it had a great cast, a perfect amount of thriller in it and it was funny throughout the movie.

I remember the (bad) comic book Cowboys and Aliens also had some prominent Indian/Native American characters. Does the movie adaptation keep those? Everyone I saw in the trailer was white.

Saw Attack The Block over the weekend, based pretty much on your review. All I can say is, Thanks! It was just awesome, one of those big little movies that reminds you that movies can be fun on their own terms. It might not ever get to be a cult classic, but it would be totally deserving if it did.

Ford's right hand man is an adopted native. And like in the book they hook up with a local tribe to fight the aliens.
