Regarding the Thaddeus creature, it looked to me like the same thing that worked with Tate to scare the high school bully girl. Or maybe it's the mysterious "Infantada" referred to somewhere on the show's website? Did that ever get figured out? If not, I bet Infantada refers to the evil baby...
Also, since the "good baby" was stillborn (presumably), I'm betting most of next season revolves around good baby ghost vs. evil baby. Looking forward....
While I really like what AHS is trying to do, and the general style and grown-up-ness of it. And damn, the acting is surprisingly good and risky considering the main cast used to be considered hammy network second-string.
The problem is the how compressed all the episodes are with extra-scary David Fincher-treated "SUPERNATURAL STUFF (tm)." They risk really burning out.
But that's probably more the effect of being an episodic TV show where they don't know if they're going to get canceled half way through a season.
I wish they would pace themselves more. Slow it down. Because when I see this kind nerd-bait eye candy stuff in a show I suspect they just making up the plotting as they go along and cramming the story with as much weird shit as they can. And 99% of the time shows like that do a LOST or a BSG and just run out of steam and cap it all with a shitty insulting ending.
So. Please producers of this show: Slow it down. Think about your story. You got something good in there. Don't fuck us over just for the sake of the fan-boys.
I always hoped the show was set up to have a new family move in every season, and then die in horribly tragic ways. With the way things are going that looks to be the case!
Thaddeus is the Frankenstein monster son of Doc Chuck and Nora. He was kidnapped by the boyfriend of one of the women who had received an abortion from the Doctor. He used the heart of an aborted fetus, to bring him back to life. Thaddeus is apparently dead because Nora teaches Tate how to make 'him' disappear.
For those that didn't know, the plan has always been I'd seen said to do a completely new story and setting each season. The story of Ben's family in the Murder House is a finite story. Once the finale rolls, that's it. American Horror Story is supposed to be a new setting with a new story and new cast in Season 2 and beyond.
I love this show to death because it's so bonkers. The pacing is the best thing, and it's something I'm seeing more shows being willing to do: cinema/film pacing versus TV pacing. Bring it on and keep bringing it on. I adore the faster pacing. It's the approach you see on HBO and Showtime. Compare how much happens in a season of Dexter or Game of Thrones compared to what happens in most episodic TV. Treat your 12 episodes like an 8 hour feature film with 4 hours of commercials. 1000% better for viewers.
@8 I hope your right. If each season is actually plotted to a finite conclusion then you can have a breakneck pace. But if each season is slapdash and seat-of-the-pants then it will fall apart.
I love the line, "What are you going to do? Murder me?"
I kind of figured they would be killing off everyone because, well, what else could happen? (Also, figured out that Violet was dead awhile back as well.)
But talk about cat fights? Who will end up with what baby? Did Constance take hers home (at least it would be out of that house)? If only Ben had hit the panic button?
The only person not accounted for, by my count, is Constance's fourth child. As I recall, she told someone she had three "imperfect" children and one perfect one (Tate). So the daughter is dead, the deformed one (Caleb?) dead, Tate the perfect (dead) - who's the fourth one?
Any thoughts on the significance of both Vivian and Violet having names starting with "v"?
Love Connie Britten and Jessica Lange has got herself an Emmy for sure.
Watching the homophobic slurs being bandied about while in the same room with my dad whose favorite swear word is "Faggot" made for an extremely uncomfortable night for me.
Thanks #8 for that piece of info. Excited for the next season!
I too believe Thaddeus to be the Infatada. In all honesty, my blanket keeps getting in the way of getting a good look at him/her/it. Yes, I have to watch the show with a blanket.
Seriously, such a good show! I'm also really enjoying Grimm this year. Not as scary, but great storytelling.
Just loved the “Birth” episode. Just so brutal, especially for parents out there like myself…that scene showcased just about every fear I think a person can have going into delivery. I missed last week but since I work DISH and have their service I was able to watch that episode using DISHonline so I watched it Wednesday just before “Birth” came on and had myself mini-marathon. REALLY looking forward to seeing what goes down in the finale next week.
Disappointed by the lack of gimp suite babies.
Everyone knows Newt Gingrich is the Antichrist.
Or was it Darth Vader .. um, Cheney ...

What happened?
