I would point out that Getaway currently rates a 1% on rottentomatoes.com. Let me repeat that: 1%.

I've been dropping in on rottentomatoes for years. I don't recall ever seeing a 1% rating before. Just how bad does a movie have to be to receive a 1% rating? Even the trailer looks dumb. It looks like a 90-minute ad for the Ford Mustang.

I actually kinda like Ethan Hawke, but I will definitely pass on this turd.

@3, this is the sort of thing I'd definitely watch on Netflix streaming or the like, though. Many, many terrible movies are perfect for that.

I also speak as a person who, to bring up Grand Theft Auto again, spent many happy hours at six stars fleeing LCPD while my cousin constantly called me to go bowling. My standards are not particularly high for this kind of thing.

@3 - They did a list of the worst movies ever a while back. Several movies registered 0%, and had to be weighed against each other by other factors. I don't remember the math that went into it, but I do remember that they declared Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever to be the worst movie in Rotten Tomatoes history.

What if the Bulgarian kidnappers—being unfamiliar with NASCAR before they enlisted him—barked obscenities at Ethan Hawke's character while he just went in a giant left-hand oval around the city for 90 minutes? That'd be a way better film.

When I started reading this review and saw that we were talking about Ethan Hawke's wife, I naturally assumed that Selena Gomez *was* the wife. Yeah, he's probably in his 40s and she's - what, 18? - but don't all men deserve hot, childlike wives?

During a visit to the theatre a few weeks ago, the crowd laughed during the part of the preview for this movie when selena gomez attempts to car jack ethan hawk. She looks about 13 or so and is not at all believable as a car jacker or thug of any type. really bad job casting here
