This 2012 documentary chronicles a little-known chapter in the history of punk music—the southern African hardcore scene, which was banned and forced underground during the apartheid years. The extreme politics of South Africa, Mozambique, and Zimbabwe spawned rebellious youth and furious music that railed against institutional power, racism, and violence, including bands such as Wild Youth, the Impact, National Wake (the first racially integrated rock band in South Africa), the Geniuses, and others.
